Club Officers (elected)
President
The President helps keep the Island Mountain Ramblers running smoothly and ensures our club community stays connected and vibrant. They lead meetings, support committees, and help organize activities, all while promoting the Club’s goals and values. As a point of connection across the Club, the President signs official documents when necessary and undertakes any tasks that help keep our adventures and events thriving.

Jes Garceau

Jes joined the club in 2020 and quickly found himself chasing big mountain adventures. When the club needed someone to take the lead, he stepped up without hesitation. He’s most at home in the mountains and is currently working his way through the Club’s Lifetime Hiking Objectives—loving every step of the journey.
Vice President
The Vice President supports the President and helps keep the club running smoothly. They step in to perform the President’s duties when needed and assist with coordinating club activities, committees, and special projects as requested.

Matthew Lettington

Matthew has been part of the Island Mountain Ramblers since 2010. It took a few years before he started leading trips and getting involved with the club executive, but now he’s an active part of the team. Whether he’s hiking mountain trails or wandering along misty beaches, you’ll find him happiest outdoors.
Treasurer
The Treasurer manages the club’s finances and ensures that our financial records are up to date. They attend executive and general meetings to report on the club’s financial activities, oversee payments, and ensure everything is handled accurately and transparently.

Secretary
The Secretary helps keep the Island Mountain Ramblers organized and running efficiently. They attend all meetings to record minutes, coordinate meetings at the request of the President, and ensure the Club’s business is clearly documented and communicated. The Secretary also manages correspondence and maintains records, supporting the Executive and helping the Club stay connected and on track.

Director of Memberships
The Director of Membership oversees the membership process and keeps accurate records of all current members. They ensure member questions and issues are responded to promptly and keep the executive informed about any member-related matters.
To help manage the workload, the Director may establish a Membership Committee to provide assistance with communication and support to members.

Past President
The Past President is the club’s immediate former President. They support the Executive by sharing their experience and helping with club management. If both the President and Vice President are unavailable, the Past President steps in to fulfill the President’s duties.

FMCBC Representative
The FMCBC Representative connects the Island Mountain Ramblers with the Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC, ensuring our members’ voices are heard provincially. They attend meetings, share updates from other outdoor clubs, and keep us informed on access, conservation, and mountain issues across BC.

Ken has been leading hikes since he joined the Island Mountain Ramblers in 2016. He is never happier than when he reaches the alpine.
District Representatives
Our two district representatives serve as local contacts for members in their respective areas. They help coordinate trip leaders, support members in organizing outings, and share local perspectives with the club’s executive.
District Reps play an important role in keeping members connected, encouraging participation, and helping promote the goals of the Island Mountain Ramblers.

Events Manager – Calendar
The Events Coordinator helps keep our adventures organized and our members connected. They post new trips and events to Meetup and Facebook, and support trip leaders’ use of the Meetup platform — making it easy for everyone to join in on the fun.

Trip Reports Engineer
The Trip Reports Engineer helps preserve the Island Mountain Ramblers’ history by publishing members’ trip reports as blog posts for Timberline Tales. They ensure the stories of our adventures are captured, shared, and accessible to all members.

Julianna has been a proud member of the Island Mountain Ramblers since 2012 and brings a long history of volunteerism and involvement in outdoor clubs. She’s passionate about community, adventure, and the simple joy of being outside—after all, what she loves most about the outdoors is that it’s not indoors!
Librarian/Quartermaster
The librarian houses the club gear and manages the book and map resources and maintains the digital catalogue.
