Day 1 San Josef Bay
Our trip began late Friday night. Myself, Lisa and Adrian hiked into San Josef Bay by moonlight arriving by 11pm. 2km
Day 2 To Nels
Blessed with beautiful weather and a low tide, we spent most of the morning checking out the beaches, stacks and tide pools at San Josef Bay. After a few hours of beach exploring we made our trek to Nels Bight which is where we made camp for the remainder of the nights. We stopped for lunch at Fishermans River (halfway). The trail was is great shape, not much mud and we followed a bear in. Camp was made and we were able to experience a great sunset and still great weather. 18 km
Day 3 To the Lighthouse and back to Nels
Spent the day out on the beaches and trekked out to the lighthouse. We were greeted by the friendly keeper and he gave us freezies! We were able to get a 360 view from the deck on the lighthouse. Took the secret trail back through secret beaches and caves. Luckily we saw orcas playing in the water. 12 km
Day 4 Nels to parking lot
Early start. Wolf on the beach just before we left. We kept a steady pace on the way back. We got to experience the entire weekend with no rain, and lots of sun. 18km
All in all an epic unforgettable trip!
