Our Westwood Ridges Ridge Ramble was hiked under mixed skies. The five adults and two children took our time exploring the picnic shelter, memorial garden and picking our way through the salal to the upper ridge.
We had great visibility for our lunch, taken at the high point above Westwood Lake. Octavia napped while we ate, and Hemingway gorged himself on the grapes intended for the two.
By the time we reached the final ridge, the sun was peeking out and as we hiked through the trees back to the cars, light illuminated the new leaves on the forest shrubbery.
Great day.
