Nile Creek

Led by Ross Burnett and John Young; Distance – just under 12 km return; almost 4 hours exactly including our lunch break.

Four IMR members met at the end of Charlton Drive off 19A in Qualicum Bay (or is it Bowser?) to enjoy the full length of Nile Creek up to the waterfalls. Well – not the full length, it would be interesting to see if there is a trail route possible right from the mouth. Of course, there was never any thought of starting at the Inland Highway, as that would be cheating. Plus, it’s about the journey, not the destination, right?

Nile Creek

Stats:  according to my AllTrails recoding, just under 15km with 360m accumulated elevation gain.  Total time:   4h, 25 min.

First:  time to Nile Creek for 3 of the group, time as a loop for 4 of the group, time out on a Rambler hike this year for 2 of the group, and although I’ve led hikes for other groups, first time leading for IMR.

Thames and Nile Creeks Loop Hike

Four Ramblers enjoyed a lovely 12 km, 4-hour walk in the Thames and Nile creek valleys, finishing just before the rain started.

Some very lovely forest and creek sections, and some relatively large Douglas fir and cedars.
