The Cat’s Ear

July 21st, 2019

~ submitted by Phil Jackson

With clear skies, cool breeze, and warm –yet not scorching– weather we had high hopes of reaching the summit of The Cats Ear. We had intended to approach via Highway 4 but when we arrived at the head of the “road”, we had a good laugh at the dense bush and changed our plan.

If you ever want your trip photos or reports posted on our IG or FB tag us at @island_mountain_ramblers or send us a message. We might be out hiking but we'll do our best to upload any photos we get sent! Another successful ramblers trip, this time on Mt Springer April 25th. We tried the viral posing trend including "titanic", "toilet" and "dead body" 🤣🤣 What we lacked in technique we made up for with a lot of laughs. This was a challenging hike with 1430m ascent in 5km's but the vibes and positive attitudes made it a walk in the park for these ramblers! Photo credit @jaimecrucil @explorington @browneyedadventurer Making new friends and hiking mountains. April 11th trip up Mt Maquilla. Photo credit @live_active_4_life and @jaimecrucil. Spring trips are in full swing!! Check out these photos from @explorington and @man_of_ramble of their April 18th trip to Mt sutton from Harrison lake With the Spring Annual meeting come and gone, we have some fresh blood on the executive (2 year terms were up today) The glacier above green lake. Roughly the same time of year A little cloud and rain wont stop these ramblers from getting outside!!! Wow o wow!!! Check out this amazing photo on route to nine peaks from @walkwherethewaterruns. We are so lucky and thankful to our amazing volunteer leaders to have this trip on the schedule twice!!!!! We even went through a huge waitlist so dont be discouraged if the list is long. You'll probably get on! Don't forget to check out our stories for updates and pictures from weekend trips! We're still figuring out social media over here but if you tag us and @islandmountainramblers we can share on our fb/ig. (I think😂🤞😂)
