Four Island Mountain Ramblers met in the parking lot at Pipers Lagoon. Although the early week was raining, Thursday brought an unexpected dry spell, complete with sunshine!

The rock and plants were dry, making for excellent rappeling conditions. The three participants learned knot tying, how to use their ATC and the skills needed to safely rappel.

By the end of the course, all three participants had successfully rappeled the 20-metre cliff-face, multiple times.

The next step for these students is to sign up for a course like Island Alpine Guides’ Mountain Improve!
