Today what a day we had in the Koksilah Hill from the Koksilah River Provincial Park, (Shawnigan Lake area) know as Burnt Bridge. This is not an easy hike, it’s steep. It was a hike I have led for the Outdoor Club and Island Mountain Ramblers, with 15.5 km and close to 800m in elevation gain.

What a fun group it was, lots and lots of laughing, one member especially brought such joy and enthusiasm to us all. The skies were clear and we could even see the tower on Empress Mountain so far away (Sooke Hills).

Flowers were also amazing, including chocolate lilies. We met lots of mountain bikers, who were all kind and considerate and well as motor bikes who stopped to talk to us.

We ended by walking along the Koksilah River to make our loop, the river was clear and beautiful. As Ken said it was great to meet new members and catch up with old friends.

I am honoured to be a leader for both clubs, both have so much to offer. Thanks to those that sent amazing pictures.
