Mt Tzouhalem

–submitted by Mary Hof

November 1, a great beautiful day on Mt. Tzouhalem, leading a Rambler hike. We did a car shuttle to Genoa Bay and started on the Mad Dog trail continued to the Bench where we enjoyed a snack. We stopped to recognize Daniel who died on the trail in 2025. It was nice to see his memorial and share with the others how life can change so fast.

I then took Mary’s Trail, I named it that myself, as it leaves the main trail and you just find your way along the extreme ridge and away from the main trail. Everyone liked it and you come up and meet the main trail by the summit. We enjoyed lunch on the ridge near the location of the old cross and made our way along the Providence Farm view and property to the Flower Reserve and back to the parking lot. The hike was 8.5 km and 611m. The group was awesome to lead, and we talked about many interesting topics. Thank you for the wonderful day Ginny, Ursula, Chris, Colleen and Cathy
